Anaesthesia in horses is not without risk - the practice has a certificate holder in anaesthesia - Alastair Welch working at the practice. In 2008 the practice sent Alastair on a sabbatical to Zurich University. Zurich University is world renowned for its orthopaedic surgeries - these surgeries take many hours on occasion - (over 6 hours for example) - their anaesthesia department has pioneered an anaesthesia protocol which has been adopted at Donnington Grove Veterinary Surgery with great success.
There is a purpose built recovery room with a head and tail rope recovery system.
The Practice has also adopted a check list protocol which has been approved by the WHO in human medicine - all the veterinarians strive to reduce the risk for your horse.
