Pat Taylor BSc FIBMS
Laboratory
Pat graduated in Animal Sciences at Nottingham University. After gaining an HNC and Fellowship in Haematology, left the Health Service and integrated a passion for horses and racing into a career by working for Michael Dickinson. Further experience was gained by working for a commercial veterinary laboratory before joining the Practice in 1989.
Having owned many horses over the years , she has recently seen the error of her ways, and now limits herself to a border collie, an ex-CPL cat called Tabitha and a flock of very productive poultry.

Carolyn Craik
Laboratory
Carolyn began work as a junior MLSO in the Microbiology dept. of a NHS hospital in NE Scotland and studied at Robert Gordons University, Aberdeen, to gain her HNC in Medical Microbiology. She was promoted to Senior MLSO, a position she held for 13 years.
On moving to Newbury in 1994 she began work for the practise and achieved HBLB approval for CEMO testing, for the laboratory, in 1997.
She has two children and is a keen runner.
Rachel Benson BSc
Laboratory
Rachel has a degree in Medical sciences and worked in pathology for the NHS for 20 years. She has a fellowship qualification in Haematology and was a Senior Biomedical Scientist in Blood Transfusion at the Royal Berkshire Hospital for 8 years.
She joined the practice in 2007 and has a primary interest in Haematology.
Sarah Cairney
Laboratory
Sarah attended Leeds polytechnic and gained an HNC in Medical Microbiology in 1979. She then worked in the Bacteriology Depts. at Scarborough hospital and Queen Mary's, Roehampton. She left the NHS to start a family but returned to work part time at Donnington Grove in 1993, once her 2 girls were settled at school.
She left us to move abroad in1997 and after some further time in a commercial laboratory, saw the light and returned to work here full time in 2003.
She now lives locally with her 2 yellow Labradors, Lillie and Maggie.
